Finding Happiness

What is happiness? Is it when you listen to the clink Of the first cent born out of your sweat Or is it the feeling a mother has After her first embrace? Or is it when you share your meal Or if it is the realization that your heart can still feel In a world where everyone is trying to reach to the top Who is happy? The one that looks down all alone Does he really have something to derive? Or the one who didn't bother to end his race For he knew that to travel is better than to arrive What if you can own the world But don’t have anyone to share it with What pleasure does it bring, your making hay? Are you really happier than the one who is blessed with family, The one whose child sees him everyday Is it true happiness when you conquer every mile But are incapable of bringing, to someone’s lips, a smile Is it when you show the world your might Or when you bring, to the home of the poor, some light At the end of his conquest, Alexander...

…and a pinch of common sense

…and a pinch of common salt sense Sometimes I wonder, is it such a big deal to use common sense. Yes, the common sense part maybe a big thing to ask in a world where reality shows get more votes than elections. But then, at least civic sense is not such a big deal to ask for. ‘India is a country where everyone is in a hurry, however only few reach on time.’ Why is it so tough for citizens to follow a simple decorum on roads? Why is it being accommodating is so tough an attribute to show on road? Blinking correct indicator or showing appropriate gestures while turning or changing lanes is not a fashion we generally follow. Nor do we care a wee bit when parking on the road or extending merchandise outside the shops to push a three lane road into being a single lane one. And we don’t even stop at this. In that minimized motorable strip of asphalt there are a few John Abrahams whose driving skills would make Salazar Slytherin a very happy man for the serpentine tracks their bi...

The Big Bang Theory

What do you do when you don’t have a life? You get cooped up in your room with books and increase your knowledge… or watch others do it. You either become a genius or laugh at the genius’ awkwardness at conforming to the social protocols and burning inside with jealousy at the size of their cranium. Like the Gift of God to humanity, Mr. Cooper, and his friends or associates as he would like us to refer to them as and us sitting in front of the idiot box increasing our idiocy when we could have proved The Big Bang Theory. As I was following up the series, I realized every character has his own idiosyncrasy which lends color to this show. People, like me, try to relate to a character that they think resembles them in the real life. However, I found that even though every character has his set of individuality; based on the circumstances one faces, one shows traits of all the four characters at one point of time or the other. These traits are nothing less than some amazing powers. N...
